Since the Saxophone was developed in 1840 by Adolphe Sax, it has gained significant momentum in both the jazz and classical worlds alike. Because this flashy instrument is both agile and versatile, it contains a wide range of colors and possibilities for the composer to explore. 

In three movements, I Never Saw the Point of Breathing showcases a wide range of techniques among which include: tempo modulation, multi-simultaneous temporality, and circular breathing. While employing these techniques, I Never Saw the Point of Breathing is still a fun-to-play, expressive new work for saxophone ensemble.
